Buffet, these should always have a centre piece as well as all the usual suspects, voluvonts, sausage rolls, goujons, sandwiches and so on, try using a whole poached dressed salmon or a carved meat platter, remember the buffet has to contend with the bride for some attention so make sure it looks appealing!

Hog roast, perfect for the summer on the patio or part of the party in the function room, compliment this with salads, new or jacket potatoes, and coleslaw.

BBQ more popular in the summer for obvious reasons, but many weddings have a firework display in the evening so this would work perfectly whatever time of year!

Treat your guests to something different, a mobile fish and chip van or an ice cream van for a summer dessert.

Why not add a bit of fun at your wedding by putting up the hen and stag night pictures in the toilets? To spice it up a little, put the stag pictures in the ladies and hen pictures in the gents!

Write a special note to the close people involved in your wedding such as the bridesmaids and ushers explaining why they are sp special, and put them in an envelope and leave them at their place setting at the wedding breakfast. It will be something they keep forever!

Make your ‘order of service’ more memorable by adding information such as the history of the venue.

With digital camera’s being used much more than disposable cameras, give guests a blank CD with a stamped address envelope so they can burn their pictures and send them to you easily.

To get the right wedding ring fit, always try them on when your hands are cold.

You can remove water marks from satin shoes with a dab of white spirit.

When sending out invitations, number your RSVP cards against your guest list, this way, if someone forgets to fill in their details you know who it belongs to.
