Farm Weddings
We don’t mean standing in a field with lots of sheep and cows!  But farms can be an affordable place to get married with a lot of charm. some of them allow your guests to interact with the animals, you might find a farm that has a barn that you could tranform in to ther perect eveing reception or you could have a marquee set up for the sit doen meal and change it around for your evening guests.

Small luxurious weddings Budgets might be tight, but that doesn’t mean that luxury and glamour are going away. Instead, couples are opting for the more intimate wedding day. By having fewer guests, they can have more personal touches during the day, maybe more expensive wine, or more personalised favours.

The new color for 2009 is gray. You may think of gray as too dull to be a color for weddings,it can serve as a sophisticated contrast to brighter colors. It’s great paired with pink or yellow, but perhaps the hottest combination this year will be silver and purple?
Purple is extremley popular in the high street shops at the moment maybe this trend will follow within the world of fabulous weddings.

2009 brides are considerate, so they’re looking for bridesmaid dresses that are truly rewearable, look in high street shops, such as john Lewis you can pick up some lovely dresses from Coast, or try BHS they have some great prices on Younger bridesmaid dresses, if you are set on a cerain style but you don’t mind having different shades of your choosen colour, all hit the shops during the sales and you could end up with getting some great bargains.

1. Why not give female guests a Breast Cancer Campaign Pin - all proceeds go to charity and it is a great way to remember a loved one.

2. You can also buy a Breast Cancer symbol that has tiny flower seeds embedded in to the design, so your guests can leave the wedding plant the ribbon and have something to remember your special day.

3. Instead of a traditional wedding gift list, you could ask guests to buy the new home kit from Present Aid website and help a family devestated by a diaster get back on their feet.

4. You could set a donation page on the British Heart Foundation website and have your guests make donations instead of a gift list.

5. Cancer Research Uk also have a wedding donation page, alot of us have been affected by cancer whether it is a family member, friend or even yourself. Why not have guests donate to your page instead of having them buy you a wedding gift.

Buffet, these should always have a centre piece as well as all the usual suspects, voluvonts, sausage rolls, goujons, sandwiches and so on, try using a whole poached dressed salmon or a carved meat platter, remember the buffet has to contend with the bride for some attention so make sure it looks appealing!

Hog roast, perfect for the summer on the patio or part of the party in the function room, compliment this with salads, new or jacket potatoes, and coleslaw.

BBQ more popular in the summer for obvious reasons, but many weddings have a firework display in the evening so this would work perfectly whatever time of year!

Treat your guests to something different, a mobile fish and chip van or an ice cream van for a summer dessert.

Celebrity Hot Trends - Non Matching Bridal Parties

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

There are brides out there that would throw a fit if one of their bridesmaid dared show up at their wedding with even a hair out of place, if you are a modern bride looking to achieve an elegant effect, you might want to reconsider the notion that your bridal party should all be dressed the same.

While Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were the first celebrities to buck the trend when they stood up for their assistants  in non-matching attire , first daughter Jenna Bush took it a step further last year when she had celebrity bridal designer Lela Rose create not one, not two, but fourteen seperate bridesmaid dresses in seven different colours  for her Texas ranch style wedding to Henry Hager.

The Trend has already caught on with many non-celebrity brides who are expanding multiple colour palatte to include their entire bridal party J.crew has become a favourite one-stop shopping spot for bridesmaids apparel in complementary colours and styles.

Don’t be afraid to change tradition - especially if it means making your wedding feel fresh and modern.

Wedding Photo Booth

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Hiring a photo booth is becoming more and more popular with wedding couples as they like to have something different to save as a memory of their big day.

How about taking it one step further by setting up a photo area at your reception, you could drape matching material from your colour scheme over a back drop, add a couple of cushions or chairs to the area, I would suggest that you provide an area that would be big enough for a group photo. You will be amazed by the photos that you will have of your friends and family.
